Animal Regenerative Medicine
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
PRP therapy involves injecting the animal with concentrated levels of their own platelets to hasten healing. Growth factors that decrease inflammation and pain, protect cartilage, and speed healing as well as anti-inflammatory factors in the resulting plasma are injected back into the animals region of injury or pain thus concentrating all the bodies ability to heal itself into the area of need! This is done by drawing blood from the animal. It is then put through a special centrifugation process to separate the blood from the PRP.
Osteoarthritis, acute and ongoing soft tissue injuries, tendon, ligament, and muscle injuries, as well as a few spinal diseases, can all be treated using PRP.
Whatever the situation, the our staff will make sure you are aware of all available treatment choices before proceeding.
Animal Shockwave Therapy
This therapy has been used in both small animals and horses to treat a variety of conditions, including arthritis, tendonitis, and other musculoskeletal issues.
It is a non-invasive treatment that does not require sedation or a large time commitment from the owner. Treatment protocol is often 3 sessions 14 days apart and only takes about 10 minutes!
Laser Therapy
Laser therapy also known as photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy occurs when a dose of light energy reaches target tissue and results in decreased inflammation, decreased pain, and accelerated healing. It effectively treats a wide variety of conditions, including pre-surgical, post-surgical, acute, and chronic disease states, including:
Laser therapy is a modality we use on every surgical patient before they go home to help decrease inflammation, pain, and give them a jump start on healing!
Pulse ElectroMagnetic Field (PEMF)
PEMF delivers a very short duration, high intensity magnetic pulse. It is a drug free, non-invasive, therapeutic modality that accelerates tissue healing by enhancing the synthesis of protein in the cells. It improves circulation by assisting with vessels dilation to helps reduce swelling. It also helps decrease pain by increasing the cellular level of oxygen absorption to help prevent lactic acid buildup.
No sedation is needed and treatments are usually 5-10 minutes per body site and most animals truly enjoy the experience!
