Animal Wellness Care
A wellness examination is performed on animals who appear healthy, as opposed to an examination of an animal who is ill. A wellness examination may also be called a ‘check-up’ or a ‘physical exam’. The focus of a wellness examination is to maintain your animal in optimal health and to catch any signs of illness or disease before they make your pet sick!
Puppy and kitten wellness exams are recommended on a monthly basis and are also when they are given their vaccinations.
The average adult dog or cat usually only needs an annual wellness exam which is usually performed when they are due for their annual vaccinations.
Senior or geriatric animals should be seen semi-annual for examinations. We also recommend they be kept current on vaccines and have additional testing performed as they are at higher health risk.
